Rudra Centre Puja Services is celebrating Makar Sankranti , the festival of Sun in a grand way with Mahapuja in holy city of Trimbakeshwar which is home to Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. On this day, people worship Surya Devta, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Mahalakshmi. According to the legend, Goddess Mahalaxmi chose Lord Vishnu as Her consort during the churning of the Oceans (Sagar Manthan) on Makar Sankranti. This day marks the beginning of Uttarayan period, when the Sun God moves to Capricorn zodiac and starts His journey northwards, which lasts for about 6 months. Lord Surya, the Sun God, is worshipped as the great benefactor on this day. Makar Sankranti also signifies the end of the winter season and the beginning of the spring season, for which people express their thankfulness to the Sun God. As the preceding months are considered inauspicious, auspicious and sacred rituals can commence from this day.     

Sun, also known as Surya or Aditya, is a primary deity in Hinduism. He is worshipped as Surya Narayana for good health, vitality, prosperity, and success, as he is a source of light, warmth, and life. The worship of the Sun is deeply rooted in Hindu culture and rituals, with dedicated prayers and hymns that express reverence and gratitude for the blessings that the Sun brings. The Sun is also associated with knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. By offering prayers and meditating on the Sun, devotees can attain spiritual and physical well-being, as well as clarity of mind and a deeper understanding of life. The Sun stays in each house of the zodiac for one month, taking one year to complete the round of the 12 zodiac signs. When the planet Sun is strongly placed in a birth chart, it can indicate an individual with strong leadership qualities, confidence, charisma, and a sense of authority. Such individuals may possess high levels of energy, ambition, and determination, making them natural leaders and achievers. They may also have a strong sense of self and radiate a magnetic personality.

Japākusuma saṅkāśaṃ kāśyapeyaṃ mahādyutim     
tamoariṃ sarva pāpaghnaṃ praṇatosmi divākaram     

जपाकुसुमसंकाशं काश्यपेयं महद्युतिम्     
तमोऽरि सर्वपापघ्नं प्रणतोऽस्मि दिवाकरम्

The Puja will be performed in Rudra Centre temple in Trimbakeshwar. Trimbakeshwar temple is one of the ancient Shiva temples and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The place is revered in scriptures for Shiva Pujas and religious rituals. We conduct pujas like Kaalsarp Shanti, Tripindi, Rudra Abhishek, Mahamrityunjaya japa and other pujas which are specially performed only in Trimbakeshwar. These pujas and rituals are performed by learned scholarly priests as instructed in Vedic scriptures.

This is group puja along with other yajaman (you may do puja on individual name or include your near and dear ones in the puja).
